Metres and Centimetres into Centimetres

To convert metres and centimetres into centimetres, multiply the number of metres
by 100 and add the product to the number of centimetres.

examples: a. 9 m 25 cm = (9 × 100) cm + 25 cm = 900 cm + 25 cm = 925 cm
b. 16 m 72 cm = (16 × 100) cm + 72 cm = 1600 cm + 72 cm = 1672 cm

Kilometres into Metres

To convert kilometres into metres, multiply the number of kilometres by 1000.

examples: a. 3 km = (3 × 1000) m = 3000 m b. 5 km = (5 × 1000) m = 5000 m
